Party Chief - Centennial Office

Job Summary:
Responsible for leading a survey crew in completion of assigned tasks.  Ability to perform all types of survey projects including: Residential Surveys, Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, and Construction Staking.



Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all field records including field notes, construction cut sheets and electronic data files.
  • Ability to understand Land Surveys, Subdivision Plats, and Construction Plans and utilize this understanding in the completion of tasks via field calculations or QC of office calculations.
  • Ability to plan projects and utilize best field procedures to complete tasks to the standard of quality expected as efficiently as possible.
  • Reports to the Field Survey Manager the crew’s progress on a daily basis, and is responsible for the accuracy and productivity of the survey crew.
  • Interfaces with clients and contractors on jobsites to keep abreast of their schedules and needs.



Other Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for vehicle and survey equipment maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Responsible for crew’s safety and ensures that training and equipment to do the job properly and safely are maintained.
  • Responsible for the teaching and mentoring of the instrument operator assigned to the crew.
  • Typically spends majority of time on project site (outdoors, possible heat, cold or inclement weather, presence of construction equipment and associated hazards).
  • Typically work on a project site requires strenuous walking and climbing on uneven terrain.  Requires ability to lift and carry surveying equipment and materials weighing up to 75 pounds.  Ability to use far vision for surveying activities and close vision (correctable for required accuracy) and ability to distinguish colors sufficient to read project maps and elevations. 


 

Education and Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Advanced technical survey knowledge.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work alone or within a team setting.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.



Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Party Chief.
  • Proficient in use of Trimble equipment, including Data Collector functions, GNSS systems, and Robotic Total Stations.

Project Manager (Land Development) - Colorado Springs Office


Job Summary:
The Project Manager – Land Development, is responsible for the planning, budgeting and overall management of projects and for producing aesthetically pleasing results which meet client expectations and return profits to the company.  Projects may include residential, commercial or industrial land development, private planning support, or public works initiatives.


Responsibilities / Knowledge:

  • Plans, organizes, coordinates and identifies project goals, timelines, resource requirements and cost estimates for client projects in cooperation with management. 
  • Leads the project team and assumes ultimate responsibility for: quality, time, cost, communication, and resources for the projects in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
  • Ensures all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, are adhered to.
  • Maintains official project log and documentation files.
  • Ensures quality and accuracy of plans in accordance with standards of care in the industry. Provides technical direction to all project team members.  Provide clear, articulate direction to all project staff, identifying goals, performance expectation, potential problem areas, general staffing assignments and profitability targets.
  • Supervises the production of project documents and regulatory communications to ensure timely completion of project objectives within budgetary and timeframe constraints and milestones.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and negotiate terms with contractors, architects and planners; oversees work and resolve problems and conflicts.
  • Provides needed communication/reports to designated management on status of projects versus targeted financial and client satisfaction goals.
  • Drives execution for our customers, delivers products on time, and reduces costs.



Required Education / Experience:

  • 15 years of civil engineering experience.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering
  • PE license.
  • Strong working Knowledge of AutoCAD / Civil 3D and associated design software
  • Experience with regulatory agencies and familiarity with federal and state design processes
  • Leadership skills and experience needed to grow a project team and to mentor less experienced staff
  • Expertise in project planning, resource and budget estimating and working to standards of quality and safety as required by JR expectations
  • Progressively responsible experience managing a broad range of services.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
