Senior Project Lead (Land Development) - Colorado Springs Office


Job Summary:
The Senior Project Lead Engineer – Land Development, is responsible for the planning, budgeting and overall management of projects and for producing aesthetically pleasing results which meet client expectations and return profits to the company.  Projects may include residential, commercial or industrial land development, private planning support, or public works initiatives.


Responsibilities / Knowledge:

  • Plans, organizes, coordinates and identifies project goals, timelines, resource requirements and cost estimates for client projects in cooperation with management. 
  • Leads the project team and assumes ultimate responsibility for: quality, time, cost, communication, and resources for the projects in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
  • Ensures all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, are adhered to.
  • Maintains official project log and documentation files.
  • Ensures quality and accuracy of plans in accordance with standards of care in the industry. Provides technical direction to all project team members.  Provide clear, articulate direction to all project staff, identifying goals, performance expectation, potential problem areas, general staffing assignments and profitability targets.
  • Supervises the production of project documents and regulatory communications to ensure timely completion of project objectives within budgetary and timeframe constraints and milestones.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and negotiate terms with contractors, architects and planners; oversees work and resolve problems and conflicts.
  • Provides needed communication/reports to designated management on status of projects versus targeted financial and client satisfaction goals.
  • Drives execution for our customers, delivers products on time, and reduces costs.



Required Education / Experience:

  • 10-15 years of civil engineering experience.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering
  • PE license.
  • Strong working Knowledge of AutoCAD / Civil 3D and associated design software
  • Experience with regulatory agencies and familiarity with federal and state design processes
  • Leadership skills and experience needed to grow a project team and to mentor less experienced staff
  • Expertise in project planning, resource and budget estimating and working to standards of quality and safety as required by JR expectations
  • Progressively responsible experience managing a broad range of services.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.

Job Summary:
The qualified person is responsible for supporting the Project Lead/Project Manager in all facets of a project including regulating the project design process, and overseeing the work of design team members.  He/she will be responsible for applying intensive and diversified knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices in broad areas.  Uses advanced techniques, theory precepts and practices in the civil engineering field and related sciences and disciplines. The individual should be capable of providing coordination, scheduling, and supervision in the technical design of residential and commercial projects.


Responsibilities / Knowledge:

  • Preferred technical knowledge with development of land development designs, grading, paving, water, sewer plans, and drainage reports for residential subdivisions
  • Act as a mentor and oversee junior design engineers’ work product and coordinate work assignments
  • Ability to complete tasks independently and on schedule
  • Strong verbal / written communication skills
  • Strong planning / organizational skills



Required Education / Experience:

  • 5 - 10 years of civil engineering experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • PE license

Civil Engineering (Recent Graduate) - Centennial Office, Fort Collins & Golden Offices


Job Summary:
The qualified person will perform assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.

The ideal candidate will conceive and develop solutions to engineering programs through the application of professionally accepted engineering techniques, practices and procedures. Ensures that engineering work conforms to high technical and organization standards and meets or exceeds all contract requirements. 


Responsibilities / Knowledge:

  • Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
  • Assists in the preparation of improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents and permit applications for subdivisions, commercial developments, multi-family developments and public works projects.
  • Assists in the preparation of calculations, such as storm drain, wastewater, water system, earthwork quantities, transportation, cost estimates and other supporting documentation for public and private projects.
  • Performs plan drafting using AutoCAD software.
  • Ensures the product ability of designs.​



Required Education / Experience:

  • Recent college graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • EIT / FE license preferred.

Water Resources Project Lead Engineer - Centennial Office


Job Summary:
The qualified person will carry out and complete multiple project assignments through all project phases. They will coordinate aspects of construction plan preparation, calculations/modeling, and engineering reports among the entire project team for public and private projects.

The ideal candidate has broad multi-disciplinary knowledge in civil engineering including land development, transportation, structural, and geotechnical topics. Candidate must demonstrate ability to work effectively on a collaborative team with management and non-management level members to accomplish objectives under pressure.  Must also be highly self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to exercise independent judgment and take action appropriate to the situation.


Responsibilities / Knowledge:

  • Preparing engineering calculations, modeling, and technical reports as well as cost estimates, quantities, specifications, and supporting documents for construction.
  • Reviewing calculations, models, and reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Interaction with jurisdictional and regulatory agencies; familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local design processes.
  • Periodic client interaction in meetings, phone conversations, and email correspondence. Regular interaction with other firms and review agencies.  Frequent project meeting attendance (internal and external). 
  • PE License required.  Sign and seal drawings as necessary.
  • Strong emphasis in Water Resources engineering including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, open channel and culvert design, water and sewer utility design, drainage and utility report preparation, plan preparation and site grading.
  • Strong technical knowledge with hydrology, hydraulics, utility design and associated modeling software (CUHP, EPA SWMM, and HEC-RAS experience preferred).
  • Well organized and articulate; must be able to prioritize and execute effectively and manage multiple priorities and resources in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving, conflict resolution, analytical, and time and resource management skills.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization, and be able to discuss processes to technical and non-technical audiences.



Required Education / Experience:

  • Eight years of civil engineering experience.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Active PE license (any state) with the ability to obtain Colorado PE within one year of employment.
  • Experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
