Project Engineer (Transportation) - Centennial Office

JOB SUMMARY:

The qualified person who fills this position will help design a wide variety of transportation projects, including roadway reconstruction, widening improvements, intersection reconstruction, pedestrian/bike facilities, roadway connection to bridge replacements, interchange improvements and others.
 
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Responsibilities:


  • Prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications and cost estimates for a wide variety of transportation projects
  • Perform field observation work when necessary, under minimal supervision
  • Act as a mentor and oversee design engineers’ work product and coordinate work assignments
  • Ability to complete tasks independently and on schedule
  • Strong verbal / written communication skills
  • Strong planning / organizational skills


Experience:


  • 5 years of civil engineering experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • PE license or the ability to obtain Colorado PE within one year of employment
  • Experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, AutoTurn and MS Office applications

Survey Instrument Operator - Centennial Office

JOB SUMMARY:

Assists the Party Chief in carrying out the assignments and activities of the Survey Crew.  Primarily responsible for the daily operation of the survey equipment.Typically spends majority of time outdoors on project sites (possible heat, cold or inclement weather, presence of construction equipment and associated hazards).Typically works on a project site requiring strenuous walking and climbing on uneven terrain.  Requires ability to lift and carry surveying equipment and materials weighing up to 75 pounds. 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Party Chief with data collection, field notes, mathematical calculations, and information checks.
  • Operation of a variety of survey instrumentation. 
  • Works with survey personnel to ensure accurate and efficient completion of assignments.
  • Responsible for minor vehicle and survey equipment maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Stocks the survey vehicle with survey supplies as needed.
  • Keeps the survey vehicle in a neat and organized condition.


Experience:

  • Some technical survey and Trimble knowledge, GPS, and construction staking is preferred.
  • Strong mathematical skills is a must.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in order to operate a company vehicle.
  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • College classes emphasizing math skills a plus.
  • At least 6 months field experience preferred.
  • Experience in GPS surveys including static & RTK preferred.
  • Use of Trimble equipment a plus.

Recent Civil Engineering College Graduate - Centennial and Colorado Springs Office

JOB SUMMARY:

The qualified person will perform assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.

The ideal candidate will conceive and develop solutions to engineering programs through the application of professionally accepted engineering techniques, practices and procedures. Ensures that engineering work conforms to high technical and organization standards and meets or exceeds all contract requirements.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


Responsibilities:


  • Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes
  • Assists in the preparation of improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents and permit applications for subdivisions, commercial developments, multi-family developments and public works projects
  • Assists in the preparation of calculations, such as storm drain, wastewater, water system, earthwork quantities, transportation, cost estimates and other supporting documentation for public and private projects
  • Performs plan drafting using AutoCAD software
  • Ensures the product ability of designs
  • Other duties as assigned


Experience:


  • Recent college graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • EIT / FE license preferred
  • AutoCAD, and associated design software

Project Engineer (Land Development) - Centennial Office

JOB SUMMARY:

The qualified person is responsible for supporting the Project Lead/Project Manager in all facets of a project including regulating the project design process, and overseeing the work of design team members.  He/she will be responsible for applying intensive and diversified knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices in broad areas.  Uses advanced techniques, theory precepts and practices in the civil engineering field and related sciences and disciplines. The individual should be capable of providing coordination, scheduling, and supervision in the technical design of residential and commercial projects.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Responsibilities:


  • Preferred technical knowledge with development of land development designs, grading, paving, water, sewer plans, and drainage reports for residential subdivisions
  • Act as a mentor and oversee junior design engineers’ work product and coordinate work assignments
  • Ability to complete tasks independently and on schedule
  • Strong verbal / written communication skills
  • Strong planning / organizational skills


Experience:


  • 5 - 10 years of civil engineering experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • PE license or the ability to obtain Colorado PE within one year of employment
  • Experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and MS Office applications
