Recent Civil Engineering College Graduate - Centennial and Colorado Springs Office

JOB SUMMARY:

The qualified person will perform assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.

The ideal candidate will conceive and develop solutions to engineering programs through the application of professionally accepted engineering techniques, practices and procedures. Ensures that engineering work conforms to high technical and organization standards and meets or exceeds all contract requirements.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


Responsibilities:


  • Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes
  • Assists in the preparation of improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents and permit applications for subdivisions, commercial developments, multi-family developments and public works projects
  • Assists in the preparation of calculations, such as storm drain, wastewater, water system, earthwork quantities, transportation, cost estimates and other supporting documentation for public and private projects
  • Performs plan drafting using AutoCAD software
  • Ensures the product ability of designs
  • Other duties as assigned


Experience:


  • Recent college graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • EIT / FE license preferred
  • AutoCAD, and associated design software

Project Engineer (Land Development) - Centennial Office

JOB SUMMARY:

The qualified person is responsible for supporting the Project Lead/Project Manager in all facets of a project including regulating the project design process, and overseeing the work of design team members.  He/she will be responsible for applying intensive and diversified knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices in broad areas.  Uses advanced techniques, theory precepts and practices in the civil engineering field and related sciences and disciplines. The individual should be capable of providing coordination, scheduling, and supervision in the technical design of residential and commercial projects.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Responsibilities:


  • Preferred technical knowledge with development of land development designs, grading, paving, water, sewer plans, and drainage reports for residential subdivisions
  • Act as a mentor and oversee junior design engineers’ work product and coordinate work assignments
  • Ability to complete tasks independently and on schedule
  • Strong verbal / written communication skills
  • Strong planning / organizational skills


Experience:


  • 5 - 10 years of civil engineering experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • PE license or the ability to obtain Colorado PE within one year of employment
  • Experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and MS Office applications
