PITKIN COUNTY— ASPEN AIRPORT BUSINESS CENTER

ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS

Project Overview:

 

Pitkin County has contracted with JR Engineering to provide traffic engineering, landscaping, storm drainage, and roadway design services for the Aspen Airport Business Center.  The purpose of this project is to provide the County with solutions to increase parking and traffic circulation, provide a comprehensive storm drainage system, integrate pedestrian access and amenities, and provide an overall landscape design for the Aspen Airport Business Center and the surrounding area.  JR Engineering will work closely with the County and the business owners and residents of the Aspen Airport Business Center in this effort.

 

Elements of this roadway improvement project will include: obtaining an inventory of existing parking, storm drainage, and pedestrian facilities, surveying and mapping of the roadways, drainage, landscaping and other features, soliciting input from the Aspen Airport Business Center business owners, residents and other concerned citizens, producing alternatives, and once a consensus has been reached, JR Engineering will generate construction plans of the preferred alternative.

 

Presently, JR Engineering will be conducting traffic counts in the neighborhood, and we are continuing with the survey and base mapping.  The first of several public meetings is tentatively scheduled for the end of July, once the base mapping has been completed.  This site will be updated regularly as this project continues, so visit often and keep up to date on this important project.
