The Peña Station Development
Client: Aviation Station North Metropolitan District / City and County of Denver - Aviation
The Peña Station Development is comprised of a Transit Oriented Development with higher density, mixed land uses and multimodal corridors to promote walk-ability. The Development is centered at 61st Avenue and Peña Boulevard along the RTD rail line within the City and County of Denver. The development is supported by the first rail station west from the terminus at the Denver International Airport.
JR Engineering serves as the District Engineer and prepared the master planning documents and the overall site civil plans for the initial phase of infrastructure improvements to serve development.
The first phase of civil infrastructure constructed includes: 5 miles of collector roadways and 2 traffic signals; major drainage way improvements including Blue Grama Draw designed and constructed to UDFCD standards; construction of 18,000 linear feet of 6”-16” waterline and 8,000 linear feet of 4”-8” non-potable waterline; 4 miles of sanitary sewer from 8 to 27 inches; 4 miles of storm sewer from 18 to 72 inches and large dimensional box culverts; and 4.2 MGD sanitary sewer lift station and force main.
