The JR Engineering Story

In 1973 Jim Fraker and Roger Guertner, working as surveyor and engineer, decided to begin a consulting firm specializing in land development consulting services. A friendly coin toss determined the initials of the company to be JR as opposed to RJ, and they were in business.  From a four-man shop in 1973, JR positioned itself as the foremost expert in the southern Denver metropolitan area, developing lands in Douglas, Arapahoe, and Jefferson counties.

During the late 1980's JR expanded from Denver to Colorado Springs, and then in 1996 expanded again but this time northward into the Fort Collins market.  Today, more than 40 years later, JR Engineering operates four offices covering the front range of Colorado and southern Wyoming, into the mountains and west slope of Colorado.

JR continues to provide superior civil engineering and land surveying services to a diverse set of small and large, public and private clients. The company's areas of expertise include civil engineering and planning, construction services, landscape architecture, surveying, transportation, and water resources.
