JR Engineering was selected by the City of Greenwood Village to provide on-call storm drain data collection, condition assessment, and infrastructure maintenance services. The project focuses on evaluating the City's existing stormwater system, verifying infrastructure locations and connectivity, and developing accurate GIS-integrated asset records to support maintenance planning, rehabilitation priorities, and long-term infrastructure management. The scope includes storm sewer pipes, inlets, manholes, access structures, junctions, and outfalls throughout Greenwood Village.

Storm Drain Inspection & Condition Assessment

JR Engineering teamed with QP Services to provide comprehensive storm drain inspections, cleaning, and condition assessments. The scope includes closed-circuit television (CCTV) inspections to identify structural defects, sediment accumulation, blockages, and connectivity issues. Inspections follow NASSCO Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (PACP) and Manhole Assessment Certification Program (MACP) standards, with findings documented through inspection logs, condition ratings, photographs, and video recordings. Storm sewer cleaning services include hydro-jetting, debris removal, and vacuum extraction as needed to facilitate accurate inspections.

The project also includes targeted investigations of stormwater infrastructure with incomplete or inaccurate records, including unidentified outfalls, missing pipe connections, and areas with suspected drainage deficiencies.

Surveying, GIS Integration & Asset Management

JR's responsibilities include project management, field surveying, GIS data management, and quality assurance. The survey scope involves verifying horizontal and vertical locations of stormwater infrastructure and collecting critical asset information, including pipe sizes, materials, rim and invert elevations, and flow directions.

JR is responsible for incorporating verified survey information and CCTV condition assessment data into the City's GIS and Cityworks asset management system. This includes updating infrastructure locations, validating network connectivity, linking inspection records to individual assets, and reviewing data for accuracy and completeness.

Through this on-call contract, JR coordinates inspection activities, manages project schedules and budgets, and works closely with City staff to prioritize infrastructure assessments. The resulting data will help Greenwood Village identify maintenance needs, evaluate infrastructure conditions, and make informed decisions regarding future stormwater improvements.
