JR Engineering was contracted by Shea Homes to design Solstice, a development in Douglas County with approximately 1,100 homes on a 400-acre site located south of Chatfield Reservoir and bordered by Chatfield State Park to the west, north, and east. The property is traversed by the High Line Canal. Solstice is a mixed-use residential community that includes single-family detached homes, cluster homes, recreational amenities, parks, open spaces, and a K-8 school.

Infrastructure Construction Oversight

An essential part of the project involved providing construction management services to oversee the construction of all utilities, roadway, drainage, and landscaping infrastructure to service the Solstice development.

 

Construction Engineering & Contract Administration

Specific tasks included attending pre-construction and progress meetings, reviewing submittals and shop drawings, responding to RFIs, approving pay requests, reviewing change orders and inspection reports, preparing design and field change notifications, performing periodic construction observations, coordinating with the contractor and City, and managing construction closeout services.
