JR Engineering provided civil engineering design services for the Terrazzo-Baja Commercial Development near Interstate 25 and Baptist Road in Monument, Colorado. The project included extensive public infrastructure improvements supporting the commercial development, including roadway construction, water and sanitary sewer infrastructure, storm drainage systems, grading, erosion control, and associated site improvements. The scope also included improvements to Old Denver Road to accommodate the surrounding development.

Roadway & Utility Infrastructure

JR Engineering prepared roadway improvement plans for the commercial development and Old Denver Road, including roadway geometry, intersection improvements, curb ramps, signage, striping, and associated construction details. The project also included water and sanitary sewer infrastructure, storm sewer installation, and drainage improvements to support the development's infrastructure needs.

JR developed the storm sewer plans and Final Drainage Report, along with grading and erosion control plans addressing initial, interim, and final construction conditions. The drainage design incorporated temporary stormwater detention facilities, drainage swales, and associated stormwater infrastructure.

Construction Coordination & Project Delivery

The project construction scope included earthwork, roadway improvements, underground utility installation, stormwater infrastructure, and erosion control measures. Construction activities required coordination among multiple disciplines, including roadway, drainage, utilities, and site development.

The construction contract established requirements for construction scheduling, field verification, progress reporting, inspections, contractor coordination, as-built documentation, and project closeout. JR's engineering plans and technical reports formed part of the construction documents used to guide implementation of these improvements.
