JR Engineering provided engineering services for the Christian Brothers Automotive facility at 20 S. Rockrimmon Boulevard in Colorado Springs. The project consisted of the redevelopment of a 2.66 acre site within a hillside and streamside overlay, adjacent to the North Rockrimmon Drainageway. The Christian Brothers facility is a 6,000 sf, including 5 drive-thru bays, concrete parking, retaining walls, and stormwater detention basin. The project had several design constraints including compliance with the City’s streamside design criteria, as well as the City’s hillside design criteria. JR worked closely with the client to develop solutions for complying with both sets of additional site criteria.
The overall engineering design included site planning, stormwater management, internal infrastructure design, and utility design. JR also provided as-built surveying and stormwater detention basin volume certification. The project was completed in the fall of 2019.

JR Engineering provided engineering services for the Christian Brothers Automotive facility at 7699 McLaughlin Road in the Safeway Shopping Center in Falcon, Colorado. The project consisted of the redevelopment of a 1.31 acre site within the shopping center. The Christian Brothers facility is a 5,800 sf, including 5 drive-thru bays, concrete parking, and retaining walls. The project had several design constraints including connection to a shallow storm sewer system by-passing the site, and a 60’ drainage and utility easement along the southeast property line. JR worked closely with the client to develop the site grading to ensure adequate coverage over the existing storm sewer system, and site improvement limitations within the easement area.
The overall engineering design included site planning, internal infrastructure design, and utility design. Approval coordination was required through El Paso County, Woodmen Hills Metro District (Water and Sanitation Department), and Falcon Fire Protection District. JR also provided as-built surveying upon completion of the construction. The project was completed in the summer of 2020.
