Crystal Valley Ranch is a 1,498-acre master-planned community in the Town of Castle Rock. Crystal Valley Ranch offers open space, wildlife corridors and views of the Rocky Mountains from Pike's Peak to Mount Evans. The development’s main focus is on nature and the basis of the overall planning and design incorporates 1/3 of its 1,500 acres as open space. JR Engineering began work in this community in the fall of 2004. The initial task was to prepare a plat and construction drawings for approximately 200 lots. Since then, JR has teamed with the new owner to plat and design over 1,700 single family lots within 12 Filings.  The product ranged from larger 120 foot wide lots to a mix of 40’s – 70’s.

The design included the widening of over 6,900 linear feet of Crystal Valley Parkway, the widening of the Lake Gulch Road intersection, over 5,800 linear feet of channel stabilization of two major drainageways, the upsizing of a sanitary sewer trunkline and development of open space parks and regional trail corridors. 

JR Engineering provided civil engineering and surveying services for preliminary and final site design. Submittals consisted of plats, grading, utility plans, land suitability reports, final utilities studies, local roadway plan and profile sheets, and drainage reports.  This effort involved coordination with the developer, multiple builders, the Town of Castle Rock, and Douglas County.
