Client Manager - Public Works (Construction Services)


Job Summary:

The Client Manager plans, schedules, coordinates and/or supervises field construction inspection activities on assigned Civil/Site/Land Development and Public Works construction projects. Must maintain positive working relationships with project engineers, contractors, sub-consultants, clients, traveling public, and municipal staff. Must adhere to quality assurance and safety standards and ensure that budgets are met. Required to maintain accurate progress reports in accordance with project requirements. Will provide inspection of construction activity in order to ensure the quality of construction and compliance with project plans, contracts, specifications, and special provisions.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Must possess the ability to manage a staff of professionals and direct their efficient utilization on projects.

  • Marketing to new and existing clients.

  • RFP, RFQ and other proposal preparation.

  • Maintain integrity-based client relationships.

  • Collaboration with the project accountant on invoicing and collections.

  • Manage change orders for additional services.

  • Industry knowledge of the design documents associated with Civil/Site/Land Development and/or Public Works projects.

  • Meet company performance metrics.

  • Active within professional organizations.

  • Obtain and maintain required certifications for position.

  • Must meet internal requirements for operation of company vehicles throughout duration of employment and must maintain a valid driver's license and insurable driving record.

  • Must be willing and able to travel to job sites, sometimes for extended periods. Job sites may be located throughout Colorado or in western U.S.

  • Working knowledge of general design principles, safety and labor laws and requirements, quality control and quality assurance principles.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

  • Business development experience.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline.

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.

  • At least 10 years of related experience required.


Work Environment: Normal office environment. Infrequent visits to field sites and client offices as necessary. This is not a remote position. The company feels collaboration is essential and most work is to be performed in the office.


This position could be located out of our Centennial, Colorado Springs or Fort Collins office based on the location of candidate.

Job Type: Full-time


Salary: $110,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
