STATE HIGHWAY 9 SIDEWALK AND WALLS

Location
Frisco, CO
Client
Town of Frisco

JR Engineering prepared the full design, plans, specifications, and cost estimate for the Highway 9 Sidewalk and Walls project in Frisco, Colorado.  The project design included new concrete trail sections meeting ADA guidelines, site grading, two-tiered block walls, coping and handrail design, and ADA ramps.

Site Contraints & Design Challenges

The project site faced existing challenges with steep slopes, lack of sun and melting of snow on the existing sidewalk corridor, lack of snow storage, heavy vegetation, utility conflicts, and limited right-of-way.

Project Coordination & Construction

JR teamed with CMT for geotechnical services and San Engineering for structural calculations. The project had CDOT funding, so it followed the Federal processes and required all clearances to be bid out.

The construction of the project occurred in the fall of 2024.
