In 2021, JR Engineering updated the Town of Severance’s Transportation Master Plan, covering current conditions, forecasted growth, project identification, and implementation strategies.  This included analyzing high-accident intersections and recommending safety improvements.

On-Call Traffic Engineering

After completing the transportation master plan, JR was contracted as the Town’s Traffic Engineer, serving as an extension of Town staff for design, analysis, and compliance review on traffic studies within budget and timeline requirements.

Through this ongoing contract, JR assists the Town with developer traffic study reviews, grant applications, speed and truck route analyses, and offers recommendations on traffic calming and parking.  JR also attends Planning Commission and Town Council meetings for complex projects.

Traffic Safety & Calming

JR analyzed town-wide speed patterns using Wejo data, identifying zones with speeding and harsh braking to recommend targeted safety improvements.  Additionally, JR managed traffic counts, conducted traffic operations analyses at key intersections, and implemented a traffic calming project on Ponderosa Drive.
