BRIDGE STREET WIDENING

JR Engineering prepared the design for the Bridge Street Widening Project, a critical corridor serving the City of Brighton. The project included roadway reconstruction and widening, culvert widening and extension, four traffic signals, water line and storm sewer installation, pond modifications, utility relocations, and sidewalk and trail improvements. The design addressed roadway capacity, aging infrastructure, drainage deficiencies, and traffic and pedestrian safety while improving connectivity throughout the corridor.
Roadway & Multimodal Improvements
The majority of the corridor required roadway widening and pavement reconstruction to improve traffic operations and accommodate future needs. JR's design also included new and replacement traffic signals, pedestrian facilities, and trail connections to improve mobility and safety for all users. These improvements were coordinated with existing infrastructure and surrounding development to provide a comprehensive corridor solution.
Drainage Design & Utility Coordination
JR Engineering evaluated existing roadway drainage and storm sewer infrastructure to identify capacity deficiencies and opportunities for improved stormwater management. The resulting design included a new storm sewer system, pond modifications, culvert improvements, and water quality enhancements. Significant utility conflicts required extensive relocation planning and coordination, including water line additions and replacements.
JR also prepared specifications and cost estimates in accordance with CDOT templates, along with right-of-way plans supporting property acquisition and temporary construction easements.
