Location: Fort Collins, Colorado
Project: Climate Controlled Self-Storage Facility

The CubeSmart climate controlled self-storage development is a 6.35 acre commercial development in the City of Fort Collins. The property was subdivided into three parcels. Lot 1 was to be developed as a Craft Brewery, Lot 2 was developed as a Self-storage Facility, and Lot 3 will be used as a future expansion site for either the Brewery or Self-Storage Facility. JR Engineering was retained to provide site planning and entitlements, landscape architecture and civil engineering services for site and utility improvements, which included: multi-story and drive-up self-storage units, pervious paver parking lot design, a detention and water quality pond, and bioswales as Low Impact Stormwater designs (LID); an environmentally sensitive and recently implemented stormwater quality criteria now required by the City of Fort Collins.
Unique aspects of our design included storage drive-up unit cooridors that had to be designed to convey stormwater adequately, allow for easy ingress and egress of self-storage patrons, and provide emergency access for fire department engine and ladder vehicles. JR Engineering also provided Platting Documents, construction staking and construction engineering support, as well as providing post-construction grading, drainage and as-built certifications.
